March 10, 2018 - Shenandoah River State Park (no Lee 333 this week)

Picture of the day

This blog chronicles the hikes I've completed in the "Lee 333 Challenge". I haven't set a challenge deadline because I can't dedicate myself 100% to it. However, if the SNAP500 (or SHEN500) can be done in one year, I don't see any reason why a dedicated enthusiast couldn't complete the "Lee 333" in under a year also.

Today's Hike:
     Distance: 8.14 mi
     Duration: 4:21
     Ascent: 1534ft
     PATC Difficulty:??

Lee 333 Progress Summary (nothing new this week):
     Trails: 11 of 107
Trail Miles:  37.24 of 342.45 miles
     Hiked Miles:  60.81 mi

Today's Track

After overexerting myself hiking this week I had some muscle pain in my pecs. My wife didn't want me hiking alone just in case it was my heart. I had a minor heart attack a few years ago and had a stent installed. We compromised and I agreed to hike in the state park after getting the phone number of the visitor center.

The day was simply beautiful and the trails really nice. I was feeling low energy but set myself and ambitious goal anyway. I'm building back up after a long break from hiking. The eight miles were a challenge but the trails were easy going and I made it.
